Warren Stevely

BEng in Engineering Entrepreneurship

"The smaller class sizes gave everyone a better opportunity to work in a more communicative and relaxed environment which was fundamental to developing ideas and business concepts over the year .”

Warren Stevely, from Scotstown, Co Monaghan, is a past graduate of the Level 8 BSc Hons in Engineering Entrepreneurship at DkIT. He had initially studied the Level 7 Degree in Electrical & Electronic Systems from 2014 - 2017. The different course modules taught Warren a broad range of topics.

“During the final year of my electronic engineering degree, I had an idea which I believed could be turned into a commercial product and decided to take a less common path to entrepreneurship after my degree. “

Warren then enrolled in the Engineering Entrepreneurship programme and revelled in the class.

“ The smaller class sizes gave everyone a better opportunity to work in a more communicative and relaxed environment which was fundamental to developing ideas and business concepts over the year. "

After completing the course, Warren pursued his business idea and was accepted onto Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the New Frontiers Programme run between DkIT and DCU. He is currently working for Suretank based in Dunleer as an electrical engineer and project manager., whislt stillmaintaining ambitions for his own project.

Warren remains convinced the idea assisted his career:

“The entrepreneurship course has really helped me progress in my career. The course gives future graduates the opportunity to offer more variety to their future employer, which is a very attractive trait to have as a graduate. It was beneficial to have some experience in areas like finance, law and management, all of which I had no experience in before studying the entrepreneurship course and has been a big factor in how my career has developed so far. “
